RUN TO REMEMBER

In Flanders Fields, the poppies blow,

Between the crosses, row on row,

That mark our place; and in the sky,

The larks, still bravely singing, fly

Scarce heard amid the guns below.

EVENT DETAILS

The 2025 edition of the Run to Remember 11km Trail Race will be held on November 11, 2025.

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY– We have made updates to this year’s event that are detailed below under Course Details & Updates.

Special thanks are extended to the New World Running Club for their dedication in establishing and hosting this event over the years. Thanks also to Paradise Running Club, our co-sponsor for 2022, and Athletics NorthEast for their ongoing support.

The Run to Remember, sanctioned by the NLAA, is an inclusive event for runners of all levels, from competitive to recreational. As the concluding race of the NLAA season, it follows an out-and-back course along the scenic T’Railway.

Stride invites runners of all skill levels to participate on this Day of Remembrance.

Age group winners will be recognized in the final published results, but no separate awards will be given. All participants who complete the race will receive a Finisher’s medal. The 2025 race will be limited to 200 participants.

Net proceeds from this race will be donated to the Poppy Fund.*

*A gift to express our gratitude for their continued support of this event will also go to Squadron 807 for their participation in the Flag Party/Opening Ceremonies for the race.

TRANSFERS: NEW FOR 2025 – You may request a bib transfer to someone on the waitlist until Saturday, November 8th 11:00pm. If you’re unable to participate in the event, please contact us before the transfer deadline so that we can trigger refund/transfer the process.  The process is managed through the Trackie website and by the RTR Team –  simply send us an e-mail informing us that you will not be able to participate in the race and that you wish to transfer your bib to someone on the waitlist. We will take care of the rest.

Please note, only participants that have obtained a bib through the official transfer process will be eligible to run the race.  The new bib holder must sign the waiver form during bib pick-up to be eligible to run on race day. All participants will be required to bring a photo ID with them to pick up their bib.

Why are official transfers important?  The Run to Remember is a sanctioned NLAA event and the results matter to our participants.  For member athletes especially, accurate results are important with respect to rankings.

To help maintain the integrity of overall race results, age group results and final standings for the year – we are managing bib transfers for the 2025 event so that all participants run with a bib number that has been issued to them.  Official transfers allow us to ensure the names in the results match with the person that actually crossed the finish line.

Bibs can only be transferred to people on the official waitlist.

WAITLIST: The waitlist is now FULL.

COURSE DETAILS & UPDATES

To make the event safer, we are switching the start and turnaround points. This adjustment will remove the risk of participants crossing Commonwealth Avenue before and after the race, avoiding the safety issues caused by large groups jaywalking to get to the other side.  Previously, parking and bib pickup were located in the dollar store parking lot.  This year, parking will be available at the Sobeys in Paradise.  There will be no bib pick-up on Race day.  See event details for bib pickup dates, times and location.

START LINE: T’Railway, access at Burnaby Street.

5.5k WATER STOP/TURNAROUND:  On the T’Railway, just before Commonwealth Avenue

FINISH: Same as start

PARKING: Available at the Sobeys in Paradise.

COURSE TIME LIMIT: 120 minutes

2025 FINISHER’S MEDAL

Run to Remember 2024 Medal Design

ABOUT THE DESIGN:

This year’s medal design pays tribute to those who sacrificed their lives, depicting two soldiers honoring a fallen comrade against the backdrop of a setting sun, surrounded by poppies.

The medal will feature a mosaic effect of sunset hues, with the soldiers silhouetted against it, while the poppies will be subtly raised, creating a 3D effect.
